3000 (mostly young) people in the Gardens of #HolyroodPalace and from all corners of Scotland and North of England will assemble to receive their #DukeofEdinburghGoldAward this Friday morning with some very special guests in attendance. Little wonder I agreed to take to the stage and deliver a rousing speech.
#youngpeople people have had a torrid couple of years and the importance of raising their spirits and giving them a sense of their incalculable value cannot be overstated.
They have already proven themselves during a demanding programme. That takes guts, persistence, confidence, selflessness and staying power.
This is their big day, and I will remind them that they have a value beyond measure and the world will be a much better place with their ideas and active involvement.
I will also ask them to dream big, infect the nation with their positivity and ideas and expand their #influence beyond these shores.
